About the Post

We are looking to appoint a keen individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • To complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities/curriculum areas under an agreed system of supervision, and direction of a qualified teacher.  This will involve planning/preparing/delivering learning activities for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupil’s progress and attainment.
  • To be responsible for the management and development of a specialist area within the school and/or management of other TA’s including allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training.
  • To ensure the learning environment is appropriately organised and to provide a good range of learning resources and materials.
  • To provide support for class teachers by establishing good relations with all pupils giving appropriate comfort and care as directed.

 

Who we are looking for

You will be someone who:-

  • Possesses qualifications in Literacy/Numeracy to GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent to Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework.
  • At least two years experience as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Has HLTA status
  • Has an understanding of EYFS/KS1 curriculum and SEN and how pupils may need to be catered for in lessons.
  • Has the ability to establish effective professional relationships with school staff and parents/carers.
  • Excellent organisational/communication skills.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to respond to changing demands with a positive attitude.
