About the Post

We are looking to appoint a Head of Year to lead and inspire excellence throughout TGS ensuring that students are consistently working hard so they can have great lives.  This is a crucial role within the school being responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of our pastoral systems. Successful colleagues will be driven by a desire to shape the culture and ethos of the school alongside ensuring excellent attendance, behaviour and punctuality within the year group.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Ensure that the students in their year group live out the culture and ethos of the school daily.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that students in the year group behave with consistently high levels of respect for others, demonstrating high levels of self-control and consistently positive attitudes to their education.
  • Take responsibility for the efficiency and effectiveness of the pastoral systems and structures to ensure excellent attendance, behaviour and punctuality within the year group.
  • Ensure the implementation of an expertly designed ‘pastoral curriculum’ and behaviour curriculum that fosters a sense of belonging to the school community and ensures excellent behaviour is ‘taught not caught’
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
