About the Post

We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and inspiring Teaching Assistant who is passionate about education and able to make a positive contribution to our children’s learning.

At Twynham Primary School we recognise that each child is different and we pride ourselves on ensuring that we teach children from their starting points.  Laying the foundations for future learning is important to us, and each child at Twynham Primary School will have a very clear understanding of their learning skills, applying them in all areas of learning both academic and social.

We are a member of Twynham Learning - an exciting multi-academy trust of ambitious infant, junior and secondary schools serving the local community. Its aim is to offer this generation of children, young people and those involved in their education the very best leadership, teaching and learning, professional development and support services.

We are offering this post on a temporary basis, working 08:30-12:15 Monday to Friday during school term time and INSET days, until the end of the summer term. You would primarily work with small groups and individual children to improve their learning.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they:

  • can support the class teacher within the classroom.
  • look forward to the challenge of working in an education environment
  • have the ability to establish good relationships with children, parents and other staff, communicating clearly and sensitively. Have awareness of the need for confidentiality.
  • can work co-operatively with the staff team and with parents to share knowledge and expertise for the benefit of the children.
  • be committed to the principles of equality of opportunity for all.
