About the Post

We are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to supervise and support students who are engaged in learning activities during the short-term or unforeseen absence of their usual class or subject teacher and administer and supervise daily centralised detentions.

This is primarily a role based in a classroom or other learning environment.

Twynham School is a very special place with an excellent reputation both locally and nationally. We are a heavily over-subscribed school where achievement is exceptionally high, students are well-behaved and eager to learn and relationships are very special.

The Grange School is on a rapid school improvement journey and recently achieved a “good” rating at the recent Ofsted inspection in November 2021. Working closely with Twynham School has created the capacity for continuous improvement and this post is one of a number of opportunities to work across both schools, bringing even closer alignment.

There is an energy about our Multi-Academy Trust, Twynham Learning; we are entering an exciting decade for our schools, our MAT and our community and successful applicants can be confident that they will be working in a truly great environment.

This is a truly exceptional opportunity for a talented colleague.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • To take sole charge of a group or class of students in the short term or unforeseen absence of their usual teacher
  • Respond to any questions from students about process and procedures and the work that they are engaged in.
  • Support students use of associated resources
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

You are likely to be someone who is or has the potential to be:

  • Experienced with working with students in a learning environment
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships with students

You will also be keen to live our Twynham Learning employee values which are:

  • Aim high
  • Keep improving
  • Don’t leave anyone behind
  • See the bigger picture
