About the Post

We are looking for an excellent teacher with high expectations of themselves and children, fantastic classroom management skills and the desire to contribute fully to the wider life of the school.  The role is to start in September and is fixed term until the end of the 22-23 school year.

We include a job description for an interventions teacher which details key responsibilities of the post.

The first priority for all teachers is to provide quality first teaching to meet the needs of all children in their class or intervention group.  Year team members work together to shape and improve the curriculum based on the needs of the year group.  Teachers are responsible for the pastoral and academic progress of each child in their class/group, making use of the school’s systems for assessment and tracking pupil progress.   Year groups meet weekly to share ideas, pass on relevant information and review practice. Working as a team, sharing resources and supporting each other are key elements of working in the year group. Year teams also work collaboratively to carefully consider the interventions which are appropriate for the children in their year group, communicating this accurately to all staff.

Responsibilities include covering for class teachers so that they can deliver interventions to groups of children; leading interventions groups as agreed with year teams; working with a learning support assistant on occasions; contributing to the fuller life of the school; supporting school policies on behaviour and attendance.
