About the Post

We are thrilled to offer an exciting leadership opportunity within our forward-thinking federation of Twynham School and The Grange School in Christchurch (collectively known as ‘Twynham TGS’).

As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering an exceptional education for every student, we are seeking a dynamic, visionary, and highly motivated Curriculum Team Leader for Physical Education. This is a unique chance to lead a passionate and skilled team of PE professionals at Twynham School, while working collaboratively with colleagues across The Grange School to shape a cohesive and aspirational PE curriculum.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team of PE teachers at Twynham School, setting a clear strategic direction and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Drive high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring strong student engagement, enjoyment, and outstanding outcomes.
  • Develop and embed a Trust-wide secondary PE curriculum that is progressive, inclusive, and creatively challenging.
  • Work closely with senior leaders across both schools to contribute to whole-school improvement and champion physical education as a vital part of student development.

This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of physical education across two schools, empowering students to build practical skills, resilience, teamwork, and a lifelong love of movement and wellbeing. You will play a key role in shaping a curriculum that reflects our values of ambition, collaboration, and innovation.

We are seeking inspirational leaders who are:

  • Driven by a strong moral purpose and a belief in the power of education to transform lives.
  • Deeply committed to our values of equality, humility, and community.
  • Has a strong track record of delivering high-quality PE teaching and curriculum development.
  • Is passionate about student wellbeing and achievement through physical education.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to a federated vision.
  • Is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey and make a lasting impact.

Why join us?

This is a genuinely exciting time to join Twynham School and contribute to the wider federation with The Grange School. As two proud, inclusive, and high-performing schools within the Twynham Learning Trust, we share a common curriculum, aligned values, and a united ambition to deliver exceptional education across Christchurch.

Based at Twynham School, you will lead a talented team of PE teachers while working closely with the PE lead at The Grange School to ensure a coherent and aspirational curriculum across both settings. This collaborative approach offers the best of both worlds: the opportunity to shape practice within your own team while contributing to system-wide improvement through shared expertise and innovation.

If you are excited by the chance to lead with impact, foster professional growth, and help shape the future of PE across two schools within a forward-thinking, values-led Trust, we would be delighted to hear from you.
