About the Post

We are looking to appoint an Executive Assistant to provide vital support to our CEO and other Trust Leaders; undertaking varied and interesting work and being at the centre of a busy office.  This role is important as the welcoming and professional face to the organisation, ensuring the smooth running of the Trust’s central office and the efficiency of the Executive Team.  Our Trust is currently comprised of six schools local to the Christchurch and Bournemouth areas, and we have ambitions for future growth. Our central team support across all parts of the organisation.

The role is part-time and flexible so would be ideal for someone who wants to make a difference in their community but also wants to prioritise other aspects of their lives.  For example, the hours could easily be worked around a school drop-off and pick-up.  We ask most of our staff to work a small amount of time during school holidays (ten days / year for this post) to ensure that business doesn’t just suddenly stop at the end of term.  However, the work of this role during the holidays could easily be accommodated from home at a time to suit the individual, rather than requiring set days in the office.

Twynham Learning exists to be a powerful movement for social equality and provide world‐class opportunities, irrespective of background. We aspire to deliver world‐class outcomes; ensuring that all children in our care have similar opportunities to succeed.

Who we are looking for

We recognise that there are people with a variety of backgrounds for whom this would be an excellent fit.  Previous experience in education is not essential; we are interested in a person’s passion for the public sector, positivity, organisational ability, communication skills and commitment to continuous improvement in themselves and their work.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Work with like-minded colleagues who believe in the power of education to transform lives.
  • Be the welcoming and professional face of Twynham Learning for anyone interacting with us – in person or by phone / email / letter / online.
  • Ensure that Twynham Learning’s online presence reflects the activity and purpose of the organisation.
  • Work alongside our CEO to support their varied and busy workload; ensuring their diary is well managed, that meetings are well organised and that documentation is clear and well presented.

You are likely to be someone who is or has the potential to be:

  • An excellent organiser with strong IT and communication skills.
  • Able to deal with multiple workstreams and changing priorities.
