About the Post

Are you seeking a role that will excite and energise you? Would you relish the opportunity to join an exciting and progressive journey to transform education across our community?

We are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated teacher of History to join our talented and forward-thinking department as we continue to transform education across our town. In September 2021, Twynham School and The Grange School (TGS) federated staffing structures enabling us to launch an ambitious and progressive vision for the education provided by our two schools. This maternity cover role will be based at Twynham School but, as a result of our federation, there may be future opportunities arising to work across both campuses as we drive forward our agenda for social justice.

Who we are looking for

  • An honours degree (or equivalent) in History or a related discipline
  • A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience of improving outcomes for students in History as a classroom teacher
  • Successful experience of teaching History across Key Stage 3-4
  • An understanding of effective pedagogy
  • An individual who is committed to supporting the vision of Twynham TGS
  • An individual with excellent classroom management skills
