About the Post
We are thrilled to announce two new and exciting leadership opportunities within our newly strengthened federated structure at Twynham School and The Grange School.
As part of our continued commitment to delivering an exceptional education for the young people of Christchurch, we are seeking two energetic, visionary Deputy Heads of School to join our ambitious and supportive leadership team. Both roles are pivotal to driving our shared ambition to provide a world-class education and outstanding personal development for every student in our community.
The Deputy Head of School (Pastoral) is a crucial new role focused on ensuring that every student at Twynham School feels known, supported, and able to thrive both academically and personally. As Deputy Head of School (Pastoral), you will provide the leadership, vision and expertise to develop and enhance the pastoral systems, culture, and care within the school.
You will lead on the quality of behaviour and attitudes, personal development, safeguarding culture, attendance, and wider wellbeing initiatives. Your work will be pivotal in shaping an inclusive, respectful and aspirational environment where all students are empowered to succeed — socially, emotionally and academically.
You will be responsible for inspiring and supporting staff in consistently delivering high standards of behaviour, promoting positive relationships, and nurturing a culture where kindness, resilience, and ambition are the norm. You will also play a key strategic role in embedding the new House system launching at Twynham School in September 2025, further strengthening the sense of belonging and community.
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate leader who understands the critical role that pastoral care plays in student success and is committed to ensuring that every young person at Twynham School can enjoy a safe, happy, and fulfilling school experience.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking inspirational leaders who are:
- Driven by a strong moral purpose and a belief in the power of education to transform lives.
- Deeply committed to our values of equality, humility, and community.
- Visionary and strategic, with a proven track record of successful leadership.
- Energetic, collaborative, and passionate about working in a supportive and ambitious environment.
- Ready to embrace the opportunities and responsibilities of leadership across our growing federated structure.
Why join us?
This is a genuinely exciting time to join Twynham and The Grange Schools. As two proud, inclusive, and high-performing schools within the Twynham Learning Trust, we share the same curriculum, the same values and ethos, and a collective ambition to offer the best of both worlds: a close-knit, nurturing community combined with the opportunities and innovation of a larger organisation.
Whether leading across both schools or within Twynham School itself, you will find a community committed to collaboration, professional growth, and making a real difference to the lives of young people.
If you are excited by the opportunity to shape the future, believe in our values, and are passionate about delivering excellence for every student, we would be delighted to hear from you.
