About the Post

We are seeking an exceptional and inspirational Teacher of Mathematics to join our high‑performing department, with additional responsibility for leading a specific key stage or area of the curriculum. The exact area of responsibility—whether Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 5—will be shaped around the successful candidate’s experience, strengths and skillset. This rare opportunity combines classroom excellence with strategic leadership within a thriving and ambitious team.

 

The role is based at Twynham School, within the Twynham School and The Grange School federation. Our collaborative approach allows us to share expertise and resources across both schools, ensuring we deliver the very best educational experience for the young people of Christchurch.

  • is a talented and committed teacher who will relish the opportunity to lead and deliver engaging, challenging and thought‑provoking mathematics lessons.
  • will be responsible for driving excellent progress across classes and for cultivating a calm, purposeful learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • will be confident in planning and delivering lessons that are responsive to the needs of all learners
  • will be passionate about supporting students’ academic and personal development.
  • as a subject leader for your designated key stage or curriculum area, will play a key role in shaping provision, mentoring colleagues and ensuring consistently high standards in teaching and outcomes.
  • is an experienced practitioner who is ambitious for their own development and eager to contribute to the wider life of the school and federation.
  • will work closely with colleagues across the federation to share best practice and contribute to the ongoing development of mathematics provision.

Who we are looking for

  • have a good Honours degree (in a subject relevant to the position)
  • have a proven track record of raising achievement and securing high achievement of students
  • have successful experience of teaching maths across Key Stage 3/4/5 in a state 11-16 or 11-18 school
  • are a high-energy and passionate individual with a clear moral purpose which is driven by a desire to improve the life chances of young people.
  • are an emotionally intelligent colleague who can adapt to a range of situations and communicate with various stakeholders including students, parents and other colleagues and professionals.
  • are a team player who is comfortable in both providing and responding to professional challenge.
