About the Post

We are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated teacher of Geography to join our talented and forward-thinking department as we continue to transform education across our town. In September 2021 Twynham School and The Grange School (TGS) federated staffing structures enabling us to launch an ambitious and progressive vision for the education provided by our two schools. Whilst this post will be based at Twynham School we are seeking colleagues who will be committed to our work across the town and will be ambitious for further opportunities across our two schools.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Teach Geography across Key Stage 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5 teaching)
  • Further improve outcomes in Geography
  • Further develop the exceptional extra-curricular, trips and visits programme within and beyond Geography 
  • Passionately promote the disadvantaged agenda working with exceptional colleagues to provide our students with the very best life chances
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

Who we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you: 

  • Have an honours degree (or equivalent) in a Geography or a related discipline
  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience of improving outcomes for students in Geography as a classroom teacher
  • Have successful experience of teaching Geography across Key Stage 3-4
  • Have an understanding of effective pedagogy
  • Are committed to supporting the vision of Twynham TGS
  • Have excellent classroom management skills
