About the Post

Stourfield Infant School is a large two/three form entry infant school with children from Year R to Year 2. At Stourfield Infant School, the children always come first. Everything we do in school is to help the children feel safe, happy, motivated and confident in their learning and relationships. We are looking to appoint a highly organised and pro-active School Business Manager to oversee all areas of non-academic operations within the school, supporting the Headteacher to deliver their statutory responsibilities and their school development priorities.

 

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Manage finances including budgeting and forecasting, purchase orders, invoicing, parental payments, insurance and lettings.
  • Ensure robust and effective practices are in place for the general running of the school.
  • Line manage and supervise our admin team, site team and our lunchtime supervisors.
  • Support the headteacher with staff recruitment, induction, appraisal and development planning.
  • Be responsible for other operational HR processes including recording maintaining personnel files, staff absences and return to work meetings and staff pay.
  • Fulfil the role of Single Central Record administrator for the school
  • Manage safety and risk including the local risk register, accident reporting and investigation  and business continuity planning.
  • Work with our trust estates team on improvement projects, maintenance and compliance work and ensure a secure, safe, clean site.
  • Manage local requirements for IT hardware and software, maintain records of equipment loans and work with our trust IT team on future requirements and investments.
  • Support production of information and reports for our governance meetings and maintain school specific policies.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

Who we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have strong organisational, administrative and financial skills with high levels of competence in using general IT platforms, financial systems and management information systems
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and gravitas to interact with colleagues across our organisation, with our parent groups and our wider community
  • Have significant experience within school administration and a corresponding knowledge of data and process requirements for admissions, pupil information, assessment etc.
  • Are safer recruitment certified and/or have a school business management qualification
  • Have line management experience
  • Have the ability to pay attention to detail
  • Are a self-starter with ability to drive change to make processes more robust and/or efficient
