About the Post

The successful candidate would be responsible for supporting a range of pupils and families across our school. The role will include 1:1 and small group support, as well as regularly liaising with a range of agencies and ensuring strong communication with all parties. Candidates will be able to apply their counselling skillset in this role to the benefit of all stakeholders.

Christchurch Junior School is a large, popular community school, which caters for almost 500 children aged between 7 and 11 years. The children spend four years here. The classes are organised in year groups hosting four classes each. We are an inclusive school and welcome children from all walks of life and all faiths. The children enjoy excellent facilities in purpose-built premises. which

Who we are looking for

We are looking for candidates who wish to pursue a career in education and will relish the opportunity to:

  • Provide pastoral care for pupils and their families
  • Develop and deliver multi-agency interventions to support vulnerable children, young people and their families.
  • Champion issues relating to attendance to ensure that the children and young people are enabled to maximise their success in primary school and fulfil their true potential.
  • Undertake statutory tasks related to safeguarding and attendance issues.
  • Act as a Deputy DSL and complete appropriate training.
