About the Post

We are looking for someone to provide specialist technical support to our Science teaching staff. You will use your specialist technical knowledge to help ensure that our students experience excellent Science lessons which are well prepared, fully resourced and safe.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • contribute to lessons by demonstrating, supervising and advising students
  • prepare and assemble Science teaching resources, apparatus and equipment – designing developing and maintaining these as required
  • prepare and maintain classrooms, laboratories and workshops and undertake reasonable repairs
  • ensure that health and safety is a top priority
  • passionately believe in the power of education to change lives
  • promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies

Who we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have substantial experience in a relevant work area together with a vocational/academic qualification at NVQ level 3 or equivalent or other relevant evidence of training/development in the particular subject area.
  • Are familiar with the safe and proper use of any specialist equipment for which the post will be responsible.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work co-operatively within the staff team.
  • If you have an advanced, vocational or academic qualification in the relevant subject area (e.g. BTEC Higher, HNC/D, Advanced City and Guilds Certificate) with applied practical experience.
