About the Post

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and proactive Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our passionate and supportive team at TGS.

This permanent, term-time role is vital to maintaining our school’s calm, purposeful, and respectful learning environment. You won’t be working in isolation, you’ll be part of a committed team that shares a belief in the power of positive relationships, high expectations, and restorative practice to support student growth.

At TGS, behaviour is good, and our culture is built on mutual respect and high standards. We are looking for someone who genuinely wants to work with young people — someone who can help them reflect on their choices, take responsibility for their actions, and re-engage positively with their learning.

Reporting to the Behaviour Intervention and Inclusion Manager, you will play a role in supporting the Learn and Behave room, working closely with staff and students to promote inclusivity, personal development, and a strong sense of belonging.

If you are passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives and thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented school setting, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Support the day-to-day running of the Learn and Behave room, ensuring it is a focused and effective learning space.
  • Assist with the ‘on-call’ and centralised detention systems, including supervision and communication.
  • Monitor and respond to student behaviour incidents, including truancy and safeguarding concerns.
  • Track and analyse behaviour data to inform strategic decisions and reduce suspensions.
  • Promote consistent behaviour management practices across the school.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

What we can offer you

  • The opportunity to work in a forward-thinking and exciting organisation with wonderful young people and exceptional colleagues.
  • Automatic membership of the Dorset Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Free, confidential access to our Employee Assistance Programme, which offers a range of counselling services plus financial, legal and practical support from qualified professionals on a range of personal issues and access to online health and wellbeing resources
  • A trust-wide intranet, where we share our news, information and resources
  • Local discounts negotiated on behalf of our staff e.g. gym memberships, hair and beauty salons, chiropractic care, cycle shops, restaurants, motoring services, and retail/DIY stores
  • Access to national discounts on a wide variety of huge brands
  • A welcoming staff room with complimentary tea and coffee available throughout the day
  • Free on-site parking
  • The opportunity to work within Twynham Learning; a progressive multi-academy trust
  • The opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful areas of the South Coast

Who we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have a minimum of 5 A*-C GCSE qualifications (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Have the ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
  • Are friendly and approachable with a professional attitude.
  • Are committed to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

You will also be keen to live our Twynham Learning employee values which are:

  • Aim high
  • Keep improving
  • Don’t leave anyone behind
  • See the bigger picture
