About the Post

Our Childcare Worker will provide high quality childcare for the children of Twynham Primary School within the breakfast club. We aim to strike a balance for our children of fun activities coupled with tasks which are productive/educational. We need a childcare worker who is just as confident leading a parachute game as they are helping children with their homework! We aim to offer an after-school club provision that is valued and trusted by the community of parents/carers of Twynham Primary School.

This is an opportunity to work with wonderful children in our new purpose-built school-based facility, alongside a team of childcare workers who are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The working hours could suit individuals who prefer to work during term times only.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Assist the Headteacher in providing a safe, secure, and stimulating learning environment
  • Be a member of a team providing high quality childcare provision. Adapt activities for individual children and groups of children.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of activities/a curriculum, which leads towards the meeting of agreed objectives and targets. Encourage children to be engaged in a variety of productive activities.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

  • By working at our school, you will be making a positive contribution to our local community
  • Automatic membership of the Dorset Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Free, confidential access to our Employee Assistance Programme, which offers a range of counselling services plus financial, legal and practical support from qualified professionals on a range of personal issues and access to online health and wellbeing resources
