About the Post

We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our learning support team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for working with a range of pupil needs (eg physical, emotional or learning) and for the most part delivered on a one-to-one basis.

 

The hours for this role will be Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 8.30am – 12.30pm.

 

There is a Special Needs input in the support to pupils in activities.  Support is largely on a one-to-one basis to pupils with disability, learning difficulties or social, emotional and mental health needs.  This may include pupils with a high learning ability (‘gifted/talented’).

Who we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience of working with children in an educational setting, together with the identified specific competences/skills
  • Have significant empathy with pupils who have additional or special educational needs.  Where appropriate, to be prepared to undertake special skills training e.g. signing, to meet additional educational and communication needs
  • Are willing to attend courses as required to enhance the knowledge, understanding and skills to improve the general level and quality of support given to pupils and teachers and to maintain the identified competence of the post holder
  • Have a minimum of 5 GCSEs A-C (9-4), including Maths and English, or equivalent NVQ Level 3/BTEC in Learning Support is essential
