About the Post

At Twynham TGS, we are proud to provide a modern, secure, and continually evolving digital environment that supports outstanding teaching and learning. As our new IT Manager, you’ll have the autonomy to drive strategic development, modernise systems, and lead a committed ICT support team—all while being supported by experienced Trust-wide colleagues.

You will play a central role in ensuring our IT infrastructure remains robust, secure, and future-focused.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Lead and develop the on-site IT Support Team.
  • Work closely with the Trust IT Lead to implement a forward-thinking ICT strategy.
  • Oversee the management and security of our core network, servers, cloud services, and end-user systems.
  • Manage third-party suppliers and ensure value-for-money procurement.
  • Drive innovation across both Windows and Apple environments.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance, effective safeguarding practice, and robust disaster recovery processes.
  • Champion new technologies that enhance teaching, learning, and support staff productivity.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

This is an exciting and varied leadership role—with opportunities to influence MAT-wide systems and collaborate with IT professionals across the Trust.

What we can offer you

  • 31 days’ holiday leave per year, increasing to 34 days with service
  • Automatic membership of the Dorset Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Free, confidential access to our Employee Assistance Programme, which offers a range of counselling services plus financial, legal and practical support from qualified professionals on a range of personal issues and access to online health and wellbeing resources
  • A trust-wide intranet, where we share our news, information and resources
  • Local discounts negotiated on behalf of our staff e.g. gym memberships, hair and beauty salons, chiropractic care, cycle shops, restaurants, motoring services, and retail/DIY stores
  • Access to national discounts on a wide variety of huge brands
  • A welcoming staff room with complimentary tea and coffee available throughout the day
  • The opportunity to work within Twynham Learning; a progressive multi-academy trust
  • The opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful areas of the South Coast

Who we are looking for

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have previous IT managerial experience
  • Have strong Windows Server, Office 365, Azure and Active Directory skills
  • Have experience with network configuration (VLANs, ACLs, Cisco/Aruba/Unifi)
  • Are skilled in MDM (Intune/Endpoint Manager), SCCM, virtualisation and backup systems
  • Have strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Batch, VBS)
  • Have experience managing project upgrades and IT procurement

If you’re a problem-solver with excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a passion for improving systems, we would love to meet you.

You will also be keen to live our Twynham Learning employee values which are:

  • Aim high
  • Keep improving
  • Don’t leave anyone behind
  • See the bigger picture
